Things to do near Harrisburg or in Cumberland County?
going out to that part of PA, and I was wondering whether there is anything to do?
Open to any and all suggestions

Hersey Park is very nice! Check out the Capitol Building. It's known to be one of the nicest(is that a word?) and most beautiful ones in the country.

I've heard the Harrisburg Natural History Museum is well worth seeing. Others say the Civil War Museum there is pretty lame.

Gettysburg is a must see if you're down that way. I could wander around that town and the battlefield forever.

City Island in the river across from Harrisburg for baseball, batting cages, mini golf, a train ride if you have kids, a ferry ride, or just a decent place to walk around.
If you like to go out at night, 2nd Street in Harrisburg has plenty of options.
Whitaker Center in Harrisburg for performances.
In Mechanicsburg, there is the Coliseum, which is like a mini version of Dave n Busters (bowling, arcade, beer).
Even if you don't want to do Hersheypark, Hershey's Chocolate World is nice.
Eat at Neato Burrito! Harrisburg, Lemoyne, New Cumberland, and Mechanicsburg have 'em.
More good restaurants in Mechanicsburg: Magnolia's Cafe and Rockwell's.
I second the Gettysburg suggestion as well.
And you can always head to Lancaster to see Amish country.
