I thought this would be easier to choose.... guess I was wrong My preferences (in no particular order) ...
US Rte 219 - Ebensburg to Somerset (yeah, you pass through 'busy' Richland, but that's only for 5 minutes)
US Rte 219 - Ebensburg to Bradford/NY state line
US Rte 56 - Bedford to Indiana (yeah, you pass through 'busy' Johnstown, but that's only for 20 minutes)
US Rte 119 - Uniontown to Blairsville
US Rte 30 -- all the way, baby

PA 225 between Halifax and Elizabethville is very scenic around that area as well. Although the smell of cow manure can be overpowering if you're not used to it...

The Casey Highway (US 6) between Carbondale and Scranton offers some amazing views of the Lackawanna valley.

And scenic Windber! Bonus!
Descending into Johnstown on 56 westbound is something; I hadn't traveled that way since I was a kid. As we drove down ... and down ... The Spouse remarked: "We're driving into a hole!"
When I was just a wee bit of a lass, we'd drive into Johnstown on Route 403 from U.S. 22. That was a pretty drive as well, from what I remember, especially in the spring with the flowers blooming on the hillsides. I used to badger my dad to pull over so I could pick flowers to give to my grandmother.

is everyone saying rt666 just because of the "666"? If so, that's pretty lame.. Or is it actually a nice drive?

When I'm not dodging potholes I like Route 11 that runs along I-81 (down to VA)

I like I-81 when you leave PA and see that "Welcome to NY" sign.
