Even if we accept your notion -- and let's be generous and say 20 years worth of oil in ANWR at current consumption rates -- do you really believe it's going to have a significant effect on oil prices? Speculation rules the day when it comes to how much oil costs, and to think that suddenly our energy problems will be solved by lowering the drill in Alaska makes about as much sense as putting a band-aid on a compound fracture.
We have the ability to use 100% renewable energy sources in less than 20 years, but our government has too much investment in oil. It may sound cliche, but we're not thinking proactively nor imaginatively if we use 20th century methods to solve 21st century energy problems. It has to start somewhere, and more drilling will simply make the energy transition process even harder and cause us to take one step backwards.

In short, we need to be concerned about substantive issues, and the more we're concerned about the various "connections" each candidate has to other people, the less attention we put on solving everyday issues. Smear campaigns do a huge disservice to the democratic process.

Sorry, but it is truth. It speaks volumes about Obama's judgment and integrity. That is what we're looking for. Dig up some stuff on McCain, if it's true I would like to see it.

Yup. Good luck finding McCain supporters who are terrorists, anti-American, racist, etc. Best you can find on McCain are what, lobbyists?

It's pretty typical in any political race that when one candidate can't provide anything substantive to solve our problems, they rely on smearing the one who can -- coming up with malarkey such as being "supported by terrorists" or "being a closet racist," etc. Again, I emphasize MALARKEY.
However, as frustrating as that is, it's good sign that Obama is doing something right.

The voting machines don't work anyway( rigged) or tampered with. Both candidates could care less about the average working man. Mcain is worth 100 million, not affected by current issues and Obama talks a good game . I yield my right to vote-They both failed for me. US owes China and is slipping quickly. Maybe Mars is a good place to relocate?

Republicans responses amaze me. If only they realized how brainwashed they sound. Someone made the comment.... i know Mccain can keep me safe after 911. That is total bs. Has the Bush/Mccain war plans cought Bin Laden? No they havent. They went to the wrong country, they knew before they went it was the wrong country...only reason we are there is because Bush had it out for Saddam because Saddam didnt like his daddy to much. Also for oil, and money. Thats what this war is all about. Iraq had NOTHING to do with what happened on 911. This has been proven. Do we have Bin Laden? Did we find "weapons of mass destruction"? Did we get the "evil doers" that redneck George likes to talk about so much? No we didnt. If you think Mccains going to keep you safe you are nuts. That rotten b*stard wants to go to war with the world. He said he will stay in Iraq for 100 years, and he preaches this BS country first sh*t. He isent putting America first. His vp pick cant even control her own family, how is she going to control America? She has NO experience. Since all the republicans like to bring up things about Obamas past...how about Sarah Palin? She is involved in dirty politics in Alaska already. Trooper gate (perfect example of Mccains right to work bs) she fired the head of the state police force in Alaska because he wouldnt fire a trooper that divorced her family. Mccain has voted with bush over 90% of the time. Does that not tell you something? Look whats happened to this country the past 8 years. We are a laughing stock to the rest of the world. In Pennsylvania like i said before, Republicans arent for blue collared steel workers, coal miners, or anything else. They are not for the working man. They are for the big companys, and the wealthy. How anyone in this state can vote for that is wrong. I am a union worker at a mill. Mccain like most republicans likes to ship jobs overseas, or down south to right to work states were his ceo buddys can make there giant profits. He is not for the disabled, or for elderly people. He is a rotten old man, reminds me of Cheney. All the lobbyist that are for him, do you really think gas is going to go down? Obama is NOT a terrorist like some republicans make him out to be, hes a smart, young, down to earth guy with good plans and ideas for a better America. Call him what you want, but if you dont vote for him dont b*tch in a few years when we are in a depression.
Also Mccains little thing about wanting to call off the debate, all that was was a republican plot to make morons who can be brainwashed easy that he cares about the economy. The real reason is because he cant debate Obama, there is not one issue Mccain is right about. He has no answers. He is another Georgie Bush. If he cared about the economy, he wouldnt have voted with Bush 90 percent of the time. He is a joke, and will make this country continue to be a laughing stock to the rest of the world. I prey that he doesent win in November because we cant take 4 more years of Bush.

Not McBush, that's for sure! Hopefully Jeb and McCain haven't become pals yet, it would be such a disappointment to see Florida "miscount" the votes again in favor of Lil Bush's new friend.

I just saw that the Bristol Palin wedding will take place just in time for the Nov.4 elections...perhaps that will play into it somehow...
I swear every day the republican charades start to look more like WWE storylines
