It is a nice area and the taxes are reasonable. Lewistown is a bit of a drive to most larger places, with State College in one direction and Harrisburg in the other direction. Lewistown has grocery stores and shopping, but you'd have to drive to find the larger chains.

Lewistown is a great place to live. I was born in Baltimore and have lived here for over 30 years. People are friendly and helpful. New highways are being built and the location is perfect. Not far from State College or the Harrisburg area. Lewistown has everything most small towns in PA have, there are very expensive areas to live and some not so pricey.

I have lived here for 3 1/2 years and think this is a wonderful place to live, taxes are low, compared to neighboring State College, and crime is low.

Great, because at this point I am not really sure what or where I was reading that would have led me to assume your referencing another town; but hopefully you will still consider this area to live. I will reiterate that it is a lovely area with low crime.
