Default Help with Lancaster info

I plan on relocating to a job in MD, but I hear that the crime there is horrible. I'm thinking about instead living in PA and commuting, could anyone tell me about Lancaster and the communties between there and MD. Things like neighborhood and schools would be greatly appreciated.

There are some beautiful and safe places in MD. I'm sure your life would be much simpler, tax-wise, to live and work in the same state. My sister just moved to Millersville, MD and she loves it there. It's safe, with good schools and her neighborhood is very nice, with friendly neighbors.

Lancaster is a beautiful area, especially the surrounding "farm" communities. I can't help you out with schools and neighborhoods between Lancaster and MD. If you don't live too far away now, I'd suggest taking a long weekend to check out the Lancaster area and the communities in MD near where you'd be working.

Have you considering Southern York County, or even Adams County...a lot of Baltimore commuters live in York or Adams County (i.e. Hanover, Shrewsbruy, Stewartstown, Glen Rock, etc.). Also, taxes are higher in PA like Dawne stated. You may want to consider areas of the beaten path in Maryland, such as in Northern Harford County, or Northern Carroll County (i.e. Hampstead, Norrisville, Whiteford)?? Taxes are low in those counties, but properties will cost a little more. Southern Lancaster County is a great option is you work in Cecil or Harford Counties (i.e. Quarryville, Willow Street).

Where do you plan on working in Maryland?
