Northeast / Midwest Line
This has been a topic of much discussion up until now. Where is the line between the Northeast and Midwest? Is all of Pennsylvania a northeastern state, or are parts of its western side in the midwest?

I don't know where it officially begins, but I have NEVER seen any list that includes PA as part of the mid-west. We are always Northeast, in our entirety.

I tend to agree with you. While western PA has some things in common with the midwest, I think it still has more in common with Philly than Chicago (for instance).

All of PA is in the Northeast. But, sometimes I might say .....something like Pittsburg is in the Western part of the state. Meaning not in our Northern locations, or our Southern locations ........but the West area location of PA.

I think the mason-dixon line should be extended north to the PA/NY line.

technically all of PA is mid-atalantic but i think that there are definitely parts of western PA with mid-west flair.

When I was in school in Western PA in the 1960's it was considered Appalachia. WPA is not "mid-west".

I'd say the line is in Ohio.....Cleveland and Youngstown are more eastern.....Columbus and Cincinnati are more midwestern.

That wouldn't make much sense, since much of NY state is very similar demographically to PA.
Although I know that was just your feeble attempt at calling PA residents a bunch of banjo-picking rednecks....
