Default Coming back to PA

I visit PA often when i come home to see family and friends. I dont know if i should move back to the Pittsburgh area. I use to live in Monroeville. But im looking more into McCandless, Bethel Park, Mount Lebanon areas. I know what the Pittsburgh area has to offer and i know all about Monroeville and Penn Hills. But i dont want to live around that area. I was also looking into eastern PA but i want to be closer to home. Any ideas on good suburbs in Pittsburgh. Not to expensive but also not bad areas. Thanks.

Bethel Park is nice. Long commute if you're working in the city. Housing is affordable. Mt. Lebanon is great! (I grew up there) Housing and taxes are more expensive, but might be worth it. The "T" goes to both areas. McCandless is also a nice area, but I don't know too much. West Mifflin isn't as nice. There are some good areas and bad areas. School district isn't very good. You might also want to check out Baldwin/Whitehall area.

Hop on Rt. 28N and check out the suburbian burbs! Freeport, Leechburg, Allegheny Township. I can make the trip to downtown in 35 minutes! I have deer, cyote, turkey, fox and all sorts of friends! The best of both worlds -- low taxes -- and more house (and yard) for the money. A new mall (The Pgh. Mills) 1/2 way to Pgh. makes shopping easy.

Default No Paintballer

I do believe this guy has probably been booted off the forum again. (Check out his off the wall postings and his "expertise" on the Ohio forums.) He is actually a Pittsburgher.

You don't want to like in West Mifflin. It's too congested, few good houses, bad schools. The shopping is good, and would be nice to still have access to. But in general the areas within 10 miles of Pittsburgh aresn't that great, especially southeast, the McKeesport area. All you have to do is drive through "downtown" McKeesport to see it. Some of Washington County is ok. I would mostly consider Canonsburg. But in general, north, west of Pittsburgh are nicer areas. But I only lived there three years, so I might not have seen all that's good.

Columbus is a good choice. It is the home of underappreciated, rock and rolll Messiah, Robert Pollard!

Actually, Pollard lives in Dayton but Columbus is still a good town.
