Carlisle is a college town, so I would presume that it is at least "gay-tolerant."

While the downtown is a liberal, college area, the surrounding townships are conservative. But, it's more of a "live and let live" attitude. Most gay people in Carlisle travel to nearby Harrisburg, which has a very active gay scene.

I would say that PA is pretty well gay friendly. In the past 4 years in Real estate have to say that gay people buying or selling is about 1/4 of the business. I really think that is is not that big of a deal anymore. Unless you move into the old farmer down the road that would not be happy with anybody living next to him you will be OK and welcome.

There's a lot more of us than you'd think, which is probably why we're becoming more well tolerated in our nation. People who once held very staunch anti-gay beliefs then were shocked to realize their very own co-worker, neighbor, barber, etc. was gay or lesbian for years without even realizing it.

I actually think both are pretty gay-friendly, but I might give the edge to Harrisburg.

Gee, I wonder if they are "heterosexual" friendly????
I don't get the "gay friendly" question's. I'm straight, you're gay...........WHO CARES? I don't make a point of telling folks I'm heterosexual. I have no problem with race, religion or sexual preference. These gay friendly questions baffle me??????????????????
