Default What is Williamsport like?

My great grandfather came from there back in the 1800s. What is it like? Is it conservative, moderate or liberal? What are the people like? Does it have a geneaology center?

KevinE will become famous soon enough
Williamsport has a tiny downtown core where the main employer is the medical center. Most of the neighborhoods are run down and there are a few high crime sections to avoid. Several vacant factories dot the city and surrounding area. Suburban strip-mall infill provides most of the shopping, hoteling and dining needs.

They were in the midst of a downtown revitalization project but I don't think those loans will survive the credit crisis.
