Does anyone have experience w/driving from Phila to Quakertown and if so what's the quickest way? I'd be coming from around Bridge St & 95.
I used to take 95 to Street Rd to Tpk to 476...
Looking at the map program now it says I can take 95,Street,Tpk to 611 to County Line Rd to 309...
It looks shorter but is there alot of traffic that way on a Saturday?
Maybe I should do the extra 9 mi to 476 and then up...

My husband goes the reverse route quite often. We live just above Quakertown and he has jobs in Philadelphia about once a month, if not more, and he always takes the turnpike, then the blue route and then the Schuylkill into Philadelphia. There is a nice stretch where 309 is an expressway, but the rest of it seems to be lights and traffic. If you hit it wrong, it's very congested.

If you don't mind 17,367 traffic lights go for it...other wise stick to the turnpike.

I've found that 309 can be faster because the lights are long and the traffic is lighter.

The drive is a pain either way.

Ahh the hack with that then...traffic lights are the enemy! I guess it's unanimous then...up and around on the Tpk

Another alternative is once you are on 611 stay on until you get to 313, and take that into Quakertown. However, I would not reccommend that durring rush hour! But 313 has 55mph speed limits for most of it's length between Doyelstown and Qukertown, except for a short bit in Dublin. If nothing else, it's a fairly scenic route and it's decently fast durring off-peak hours.

That's a possiblity, although Mapquest isn't showing 313 and I tried looking at an atlas but the roads are too small to make out. Any suggestions for other online maps?

I also forgot to mention a step- it said to take 611 to County Line Road over to 309. So apparently I might skip over the worst of 309 south of Montgomeryville.
