Default State College area

What areas of State College would offer homes with 1 acre lots, mature trees in the developments with newer homes. Our budget is $400,000. Are there any towns that offer more amenities for kids--Pools, parks, community centers? Any lakes in the area?

Default State College

There are many homes in the State College area that are on over an acre and around $400,000. Many have been built in the last 10 or so years. Some new developments have sprung up near Port Matilda, in the SCASD. Also in Bellefonte, a cute little town 15 minutes from State College, you will find new rural developments. State College has many parks and public pools, as well as a YMCA. You can use the Penn State natatorium, as well. Lakes can be found in the many nearby State Parks. Hope this helps, good luck and Happy Holidays!

I also highly recommend looking around Boalsburg...along Penns Valley Hwy (SR 45 north of US 322) there are a ton of new developments going up with what looked like large lots when I was last there (roughly southwest of Centre Hall/Old Fort...not near or past there).

Then between there and Lemont is a large swath of newer developments.

I also think there were a few developments going up along US 322 east of State College where it becomes a two-lane road...and I know there were a lot of homes with very large lots there.

Good luck in your search.
