I think you can go "home" again, like back to your home state. The expression, I think, refers to going home (as in back to the home you grew up in with your parents). You cannot do that, because after you've been gone on your own, living back with your parents is never the same and is ultimately unsatisfying - for everyone.

If you do decide to return to PA, best wishes to you! Keep us posted.

I moved "home again". I grew up 25 miles in the exurbs of Pittsburgh. I moved back to PA from Colorado and moved into the city. It was a new thing to me though. I admit that I never really knew Pittsburgh (as in the actual city not the burbs). Living in the city was just about new to me as moving to State College, Philadelphia, or Denver for the first time. I can go to familiar places that I remember growing up, the mentallity of the people is similair to what I am use to, but it is nice to explore the city and learn what is in it. I only really went downtown before moving back.

After I got out of the service I planned on staying in Cape Cod, where I was last stationed. I thought I'd go back to school, find a job, a wife, etc. but something got into my head about returning to the Philly area. As much as I loved living in New England I felt drawned to home again. It turned out to be a wise decision. I can only form my own opinion and suggest that you don't move because of any guilt that you may have or that someone is trying to lay on you. If that would be the case both parties will eventually feel bad and everyone loses. I do question why you're fighting the desire to move back to PA. For me, moving back is like eating chocolate 24/7. Follow your gut and trust your instincts. Best of luck on your decision

I've lived in PA all my life; most of it in Erie and the last two years in Pittsburgh. Although Pittsburgh has been a refreshing change for me, enjoying taking in all the different cultures and the freedom of life in a big city, you are never to far from the prevailing back woods narrow mindedness that you find in so many areas of PA.

We recently went on our honeymoon throughout the New England states. I fell in love with Burlington VT, and for the whole state of VT for that matter. My wife works for one of the major universities here in Pittsburgh, and has a fabulous career there. I could never ever take that career from her, but if I were still single, or we both agreed on it, I would pack up and move there in a second.

I think my decision was already made I just wanted some other points of view.
I will not be moving for anyone other than myself and I will not be going to live with parents LOL

Thanks again all.
Soon as the roads are clear I will be making my way east.
