Just after we got out of college, my wife got a job in New Kensington at the hospital so we moved there. That was a pain since I was commuting to Indiana during the gas shortage. She got a job at the hospital in Spangler which made my commute to Indiana more reasonable. Our first apartment was above a pizza shop in Barnesboro, we later found an apartment in a multi unit house in Spangler. Our first 9 years of marriage we moved 7 times!

No way will I figure out how to use Paint....
But I was born in Allegheny County in 1959, moved to Venango County at 2, where we shopped in Mercer County a lot. At 5, we moved to Butler County (to the much dreaded much maligned Cranberry Twp.), and we did most of our shopping and doctor visits in Allegheny again. (When I moved to Cranberry it was so small and rural the only local pharmacy had a soda fountain/lunch counter AND a tack and feed store.)
I have relatives in Cambria county, Somerset county was a eating stop for us after getting off the Turnpike to get to Bedford County where we have more relatives and where our family (both sides) come from historically. Both the maternal and paternal sides my Mom are in PA Pre-Revolutionary War lines, both from Bedford County (which was HUGE then -- both Somerset and Cambria counties carved into Bedford County.)
A good friend moved to Washington County, so I used to spend weekends with her. Another friend went to Seton Hill College, so I spent time in Westmoreland County
I went to Penn State (Centre) and one trip back to school, we got stuck on 80 and stopped for the night in Clarion.
My hubby is from Beaver County, and we lived there for a time after we married in Monaca.

I've worked in Philadelphia, Montco, Bucks, Northampton, and Monroe.. and contracted in Lackawanna. But I've also spent the night or lived in those counties. I've probably been to more counties in PA than are yellow.. but these are the ones I could think of right away.

This is a PENNSYLVANIA forum and we are talking strictly Pennsylvania here. There are places for talking about what states and countries you have been to--those are the General U.S. and World forums.

As a future transplant to Western Pennsylvania, I must say, that was really uncalled for.

I have lived in Snyder and Northumberland counties growing up. I would not recommend either one honestly. They have no real source of employment, give no real "quality education", and MOST (not all) people there are really close minded. I am originally from dauphin county and I like it a lot more. It is a more densely populated area but not overwhelmingly so. I am currently in Montgomery county near Philadelphia and its a bit to much for me. I prefer Harrisburg to Philly but it certainly beats the Snyder county area.
