Default Earthquake in the Lancaster, PA area

For all those who may be wondering what that shaking was that happened around 12:04 AM today...it was, indeed, an earthquake.

The USGS website has this earthquake as a 3.3 magnitude, w/ epicenter in the Lancaster area at 40.113 deg N, 76.424 deg W. The earthquake had a depth of 3.1 miles.

The epicenter was 1 mile away from Salunga-Landisville, PA; 4 miles from Manheim, PA; 4 miles from East Petersburg, PA; 8 miles from Lancaster, PA; 57 miles from Baltimore, MD; and 68 miles from Philadelphia, PA.

I was in my house when I felt it and heard the dumpster outside rattle and the windows of my apartment shake. At first I thought a car might have crashed into the building.

On the USGS website it appears people as far down south as mid-Maryland were responding and feeling to this earthquake. Similarly, people as far out as Media/Ardmore area were responding/feeling to the Earthquake.

Any of you guys out there feel it? Where were you when it happened, and what did you think it was?

Do you mean the "girly men" that Gov. Schwarzenegger is always talking about?! LOL!

My neighbor, who moved here from L.A., actually lived through the Northridge 'quake back in 1994. That wasn't a pleasant experience for them I'm sure.

I was in Berks and was up at the time and felt nothing. The 4.6 10+ years ago was one I did feel and it sounded and felt like a trash truck was driving through the backyard. I was in eastern Lancaster the last time a 3.0 hit around western Berks and felt nothing. I think you have to be almost on top of them to really feel anything unless they are 4.0 or higher.

I felt it. It felt the same as the one around 11 years ago. It just felt like a bulldozer was trying to knock down the house for a second.
