When I lived in Kutztown there were tons of stink bugs. Oddly, there weren't any in Newtown or Williamsport.

We have them but I don't mind them. Just scoop 'em up, and throw them out. We don't get them like some people do though, so perhaps if we got more I would mind them.

In my area, stinkbugs (and ladybugs too) are great indicators of how well your house is sealed. They will find any available crevices into your house, usually on the sunny or southern side.

I must be in the minority that likes their "stink", it reminds me of pine.

toobusytoday,

That lit stink bug trap seems to work great - I’ll have to give it a try.

I have been using my own idea for going after the visible bugs. I just put a little charcoal lighter fluid in the bottom of an old plastic container (like a pint or quart sour cream container). Then just hold it under the bugs. When they hit the lighter fluid (which is basically kerosene) they sink and drown in it. It also kills the smell at the same time. I guess you could then try to start your charcoal with the bugs and the lighter fluid (I will not guarantee that your steaks will not smell like stink bugs).

This also works great for Japanese beetles.

Good catch!

This idea has been used in the past for trapping bad fish/animals in an aquarium. You can get tea candle size flicker LEDs 2 for a dollar at the dollar store. Good thinking by the guy on the news. I bought a professionally made glass one on eBay for $5 years ago. I couldn't find any now.

If you aren't so neat you can punch a hole in each side and tie it on with twist ties.
