The schools are solid(Penn Delco School District). Not off the charts outstanding but very good.

Brookhaven itself is a quiet older community full of cape cods and bungalows, very safe, clean, impeccable yards etc. Most of the houses were built in the 50's although there are is a brand new 55+ older community going up. The average house probably cost between 150k-200k with extremes on both ends. I'm sure there are some nicer houses closer to $300K and some fixer uppers that can be had cheaper.

Solid safe unspectacular town.Nice family town.

thats exactly right, nothing special but nothing really bad either, good place for a starter home, decent prices, can also find a nice condo in the area for around 100,000.

I live a few miles from there now. Brookhaven is a very nice town. Nice area to raise a family. There are a few restaurants, stores, a large fitness center, a swim club, etc in town. Mostly a residential area though. Schools are very solid as someone else said.

Default thanks

Thanks for the info on Brookhaven, PA
Sounds like the kind of area I'm looking for! Housing prices are more within my budget than Media!

I have lived here for over 10 years. In this borough if you need something done that is the responsiblity of the boro unless you know someone politically or on the council it won't get done. It's a community with frustrated homeowners and completely self serving to the authority figures that your suppose to go to for help. Best advice don't move here unless you want heartache, frustration and corruption.
