I have lived in Pa all my life until 5 years ago. I just have to say, I do not miss it at all. It wasnt until i moved to outside of Kansas City did i realize that we were living in a box. Granted growing up we visited Fl. NJ De Md but short term wasnt anything. It took awhile to reprogram. Granted, it was hard making friends and talking to people here (they like anywhere dont like outsiders) but i realized that it was my train of thought of others. We were so close minded living in PA that i tell everyone, i may have lived in pa for 30 years but i didnt start living until i moved. Im not trying to disrespect anyone who lives there or are from there, this is just my opinion. For some family and friends will keep bringing you back to Pa. For me, my family decided i was a traitor for moving. So it is just my husband, kids and myself. And right now we are currently in the process of trying to find the right place for us to move and live and Pa and Missouri is out of the question.

Hi, Lanie. I just joined this website because I'm interested in my ancestry. Boy, I never knew how many Quinn's lived in the PA, NY area! I never lived in Oil City but spent 2 weeks every summer there at my grandmother's house on West 1st Street. It is truly beautiful. I can still smell those oil refineries that are now gone. Do you know any Quinn's from the area? I suppose I need to visit Calvary Cemetary to get some dates of ancestors who have passed.

The whole state isn't 'backward uneducated fools' as you say. I live in Chester County the most prosperous in the state and per the 2000 census almost 50% of this counties residents have a bachelor's degree. That is way more than the national average which is about 25%. So please shut your mouth when you paint the state of PA with such a broad stroke.

I lived in Pennsylvania for a year and I still love it! Wish I could come back there one day, however, my friends there moved to Wisconsin, so I probably won't go to PA in the near future :-(

The services are tremendously great.Pennsylvania is a Joke. Does the Commonwealth really care about the People or themselves? I Have to say Pennsylvania is a real bummer. I'm not talking about the Citizens but the way it's run really sucks . I'm 47
