Default Help regarding neighborhoods in the Philly suburbs?!

My fiancee and I are looking to buy a home sometime in the spring/summer. We are currently living apart (myself in NE Philly and she's around the airport area south of the city).

We are looking in Bucks and Montgomery County for homes. I work in Neshaminy and she will be working nearby as well.

So my question is, can someone give me an idea of a nice area/neighborhood for a young couple starting out? We hoped to get a modest sized single home for less than 300k.

We are looking for a place where neighbors know each other, low crime, and a general nice place to be. Any thoughts or suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks!

Perhaps Ambler might be a good place to start. The schools (Wissahickon SD) are good as well.

Maybe you can try feasterville area, or Jenkintown & Abington areas. Might have to compromise on twin home in the Abington & Jenkintown areas, but they are nice towns. These are a bit closer to Neshaminy than Ambler.
