Default Snow today

Just wondering how everyone is coping with this latest blast of winter. Blizzard-like conditions right now in Lititz. Be careful out there!

It didn't start snowing in Hershey area until about 5:30 a.m. Our steep north sloping street is the last plowed in the township and of course at 6:45 had accumulated just enough for me to need to put the truck in full 4wd not just rely on the automatic differential lock. Now over here in Camp Hill there's about enough to brush off rather than drive off the snow. Fortunately it's tomorrow that I need to drive up to Brockway, not today.

Real tough day for the road crews. Everytime they plow the wind is blowing the snow right back on to it. If anyone is planning on using Route 772 from 283 through Manheim you may want to consider going another way; it was a mess around 10am today.

It's coming down like crazy right now at my home. About 1.5 inches so far, and the streets are covered.

The snowfall has been very strange here. Overnight we had basically a dusting. No snow on the grass and just patches on the street. 5:50am it wasn't snowing at all but at 6 it started falling very hard. By 6:30 the snow intensified and the wind really picked up. I guess this is better then the Philly area.

Default Snow in NJ

I spoke to my family in NJ about an hour ago and they already have about 6 inches and it isn't expected to stop until sometime tonight. They may end up with 10-12 inches there.

Yea, its your turn. Today in Erie, its very cold (15 at noon, windchill -1) but no snow. I imagine the schools had a delay or were cancelled. When my daughter taught in Palmyra, just a forecast of snow was enough for a delay.

For the first time since we've been here, the food stores were crowded and people were talking about the snow. Usually the "stock up on food" panic is limited to Philly, which in this case, was justifiable. They got hit harder then we did.

Jersey is getting off easy. I'm on Long Island and we've got over a foot already and it's still coming down hard! I'm hoping that if March is coming in a big roaring lion, it will go out as a soft gentle lamb....

Funniest part of this is that all my friends are always saying 'You don't want to go to PA, they get a lot of snow there!"
