Default New job...Range or PPS

We just got a job offer for way more than we are making in California and are thinking about moving to Pennsylvania. With the economy we are unsure of what to do.

We currently live in the same town as all of our family memebers, so moving would be difficult, but we don't know when another opportunity will come our way that is this good.

The job is in the oilfields, which I didn't think PA was known for their oil, unlike CA. We are unsure if the job is going to last, eventhough the company says it will...of course.

Has anyone heard of RANGE or PPS?

Any comments are better than no comments...I don't even know what I really want to know. Maybe someone can give some advice that will give us some peace of mind!

Before telling too many folks around here that PA's not known for oil, might want to check this out: Oil150, Oil & Gas Industry History, Drake Well Celebration, Petroleum, Oil Heritage | Home | Oil150.com

I guess the fact that our oil industry started in Pennsylvania isn't included in elementary school history books any more?

What is now called 'the rust belt' is where a lot of our industries began.

To the OP: what is it that is bothering you about the relocation? Is the company offering to help you with relocation at all? If not with financial help, what about advice on where to live and local resources to help you get started? Where -- as in near what town or city -- would you be expecting to live? Did you come out here for an interview?
