Glen Rock is a very cool little town at the southern end of the county. When I was in high school we used to debate against the small district. At the northern end of the county, which is really more a part of Harrisburg, there are parts of Fairview Township which are in York County but part of the West Shore District (Cedar Cliff High School), Green Lane Farms and Green Lane Manor in particular, which are upscale and in a desirable district.

My sister-in-law commutes from Camp Hill Borough in Cumberland County to a job in southern York County. She does not have a problem with it and prefers to be in Cumberland County. That being said there are several redevelopment projects either slated to start soon or underway in York City that I think will enhance the York area. It is hard to think of York as an individual area anymore without including Harrisburg and Lancaster. It is difficult to tell where one starts and the other begins.

Default York County

York County in general has low crime rates. Now the city of York itself has Big city crime for a little city. Am I afraid to go in the city? No, I worked there for quite awhile. I enjoy live in York county, I live in a small town with 300 people. But I myself wouldn't mind moving over to Lancaster County. I enjoy the plain and simple way of life and the rural farm land.

Agreed.... york area is a-ok with me... I live in Glen Rock and actually enjoy going up into York City to look at all the fancy architecture there downtown. I know there are pockets of extremely volatile behavior but you can find that anywhere. Sounds like Narnia may live somewhere 'round railroad which is one of many very small communities you can find on the southern end of york. Overall I believe york county is a very safe place to live relatively speeking...
