Oxford's not a very big town. It has chain grocery stores, chain fast food places (burger king and subway), and little pizza shops. As far as shopping, the closest place for a mall is in Delaware. You can drive about 15 mins south on Rt 896 and be in Newark, DE. The Christiana Mall is fairly big and has all of the places you would expect to find in a mall (about another 10/15 mins or so from Newark). Downtown Newark, has lots of good restuarants, but parking can be hard to find. Rt. 1 is also easy to access from Oxford. That will can take you over to Kennet Square which has plenty of shopping. There's also a strip mall and some fast food places in Jennersville (Rt. 796 off of Rt. 1). Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
