Default Good place to live in downtown Harrisburg? (near 2nd)

Hi everyone,

I am going to be moving to the Harrisburg area soon (starting a job in Hershey - I am from Michigan) and I have heard 2nd street would be a good place to live near. Being that I just graduated from college I am looking to be in an area that has restaurants, bars, museums, etc. so I can have things to do on my down time.

I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations or experience with apartments near 2nd street.

Thanks!

Welcome to the area! I am 23 and live one block off 2nd street in midtown (considered the area above Forster and below Maclay streets). There are a lot of apartments for rent along 2nd right now and you really can't go wrong anywhere on this street. If you want to stay within walking distance to downtown, I would stay below the 2000 block (it's about a 20 minute walk from there). But above that is still nice. Also, anything below the 2000 block of Penn and Green (which you may see listings for) is pretty good.

Any more questions just ask.
