Default Want to come to PA

We are currently in FL & would like to relocate to PA, preferably around the Reading/Lancaster area, although we are open to other areas. My husband is an Electronics Engineer & looking for a employment in either PA, MD, or even NJ. We have 2 daughters, 13 & 2 1/2yrs, so the schools are important. My husband has sent his resume to many places & so far nothing. If anyone knows of anything, job wise, it would be greatly appreciated. Florida is not a place for kids & would love for us to have real grass & change of seasons. Thank you for your help.

Did you check out State College/Penn State? Looking at the employment website, there are numerous engineering jobs and some of them electrical. If you want a nice place to raise kids with beautiful scenery, State College is the way to go.

Penn State - Careers: Job Opportunities (#29911?)

Electrical Engineer and Electronics Engineer are different job descriptions.

My late husband was an Electronics Engineer.

It was very hard for him to find employment here.

Much easier if you are under 30, attended Penn State or other local school, and are from this area. These criteria count for the most when applying for a professional position in the central part of the state.

Try for eastern PA -- the pay will be much better (like double or even triple the salary here). East of Lancaster County, I mean.

The cost of living will be higher too, especially coming from Florida. I would not move anywhere without a job first.

Actually, Florida is pretty expensive. It's not like it was 15yrs ago. Believe it or not, we'll be spending the same amount of $$ for food, gas, etc.

I have had a horrible time trying to find an entry level electrical engineering job (going on 5 months now). My problem is that I don't have all the experience though...most jobs I have seen want 5 + years experience...

Some companies treat electrical engineering, electronics engineering, and electrical engineering technology as the same...its annoying imo!!

yout husband would probably have the best luck looking at jobs around DC due to the amount of defense contractors. Otherwise, options are somewhat limited.
