Default PA vacation property

Hi,

I am considering purchasing a vacation house in PA. Preferably in lake/pool community. We are in our mid 30s live in NYC and have a 4 year old child. We would like to spend up to 130k, and be at most 2 and a half hours away from NYC. Can anyone recommend anything?

Thanks in advance.

Eagle Rock Resort - Home
With your budget you should be able to find a decent resale here. Not sure about time to NYC but it should be close.

Check out the West end of the Poconos. Beltzville Lake comes to mind. Try White Haven, you are next to the Lehigh (whitewater rafting/kayaking, rails to rails bike paths, Francis Walter Dam, Hickory Run State Park, etc). Quite a bit to do in the surrounds, not a true Lake community, but water abound, & I bet you find something in your price range. 1 hr 45 minute to NYC, directly off of route 80. Penn Lake might have something available. Mod cut - edited out specific house link Here's one I found that looks decent. Good Luck.

hmm, Maybe you should try posting in the North East PA forum. While the Lehigh Valley is the right distance from you, it's not really a vacation area and $130,000 wouldn't get you a townhouse.

The Hideout in Lake Ariel, PA (Hideout POA - Home) is a gated community with several motorboat lakes -- it is a popular resort/vacation spot for NYers, with a lot of amenities. I'm not sure how much you can get in that price range, however -- but definitely not a lakefront house -- you'll pay at least twice that and much more if you are looking for lakefront in eastern PA.
