Default real estate in state college

I am moving to state college in a couple months. Thinking about buying a house since we'll stay for at least 4 years. Any one has the idea how is the real estate in SC? Is it good time to buy? The price dropped in most of country now, don't know how it is like in SC. If considering resale after 4 years, which kind of house is easy to sale in that area?

Many thanks in advance

Go to REALTOR.COM and look for an agent that works the area you want to move to - be sure they have at least GRI designation CRS designation a real plus too. The designations show they have advanced training and have been in the business and have real experience. You really don't want a new agent in this market.

The market has really slowed down in most places, but not as much in SC. Prices have gone up some than they were a few years ago. Finding an affordable house in State College can be very challenging, depending on what you need. Your first step is to find a good real estate agent, and I would also suggest that you look outside of town. Bellefonte, Boalsburg, Centre Hall, and Lemont are all great towns close to SC. If you want in the State College School district, look at Boalsburg and Lemont.

It is definitely a good time to buy. State College's real estate market is not as depressed as other locations, and prices have not dropped as much compared to other areas. Homes within the State College school district are less affordable than adjacent districts, such as Bellefonte or Penns Valley.
