Thought I would pass along a few photos of the Steamtown Inn and the area around the Inn in Lancaster, PA.......Enjoy

These photos were taken from afar..............

Just a few for now.......Taken this weekend........I will post some of the Lancaster Woodcarving Show a bit later........
It was a beautiful weekend and the people of Lancaster, and the staff at the Steamboat Inn were fantastic!

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing, Summering. Makes me want to jump in my car and head down. I just love the scenery down there!

How's the Steamboat? We usually stay at the Days Inn down the road a piece. Cheap and clean every time we've gone.

Ok, well .......sad to say I"use to" make fun of the Steamboat...

The place was fantastic.

The hallways made you feel just like you were walking inside an old fashioned Steamboat. The lighting fixtures. The wallpapers.........
The rooms were just stunning. Beautiful bedspreads, with gorgeous throw pillows on them. Matching curtains of good quality. All rooms have flat screen TV's. In the TV hutch was a refrigerator, and a microwave. There were two nice high back sitting chairs, with a table.
PS All the pictures came from the Steamboat grounds!

The prices are good too. Plus, with your Steamboat card, that you can print out online, you get discounts on rooms, the restaurants, and the gift shop.

There was two sinks in the room and the quality in all the areas was outstanding.......and clean to the utmost.

The gift shop lady was so gracious and helpful. She helped the little fellows choose Tshirts and other items. Before leaving she gave the boys corn and bread for the ducks and Koi fish. The fish are all colors and amazing to look at.

They are working on the back pond, but there were ducks and baby ducks there.......

From the two gazebos you can sit and watch the farmer, horses, or carriages going by on the far road. There is also a rocking chair area to sit at. Gazebos make a great spot to have a picnic while the kids play and you enjoy the Amish surroundings.

The pool was nice, but a tad bit crowded.........I'd suggest going there during off hour times. Can't say the little guys didn't love it though......

I got a great price online and had a quick and perfect registration.

The restaurants were so charming and soothingly comfortable.

I would definately stay there again. I might ask for the third floor with the outdoor deck next time for sitting outside.

Just charming all the way around..........The inside is soothing and soulful.
The kids adored the place also......
I certainly would book it next year.
I should say........What a change from a Days Inn type room. Once you experience this.......You will have a hard time going back to a regular room.

Maybe I'll have to treat myself to a vacation soon! I have to burn some time anyway.

I could be wrong about this but I think the third floor is for adults and children over 16 only.

I took my Mother there several times and she was so content just sitting in the gazebo after a day of shopping etc. At Christmas time the lobby was especially pretty decorated with a Victorian theme.

I think you might be right.......about that third floor....

Also there is two gazabos now........One right on the edge of the farmland. Great for viewing the Amish farmer and the buggies going by.
Plus one of the farm children we saw went out to check on the horses on his scooter......very interesting.

Ah, Lancaster, PA, where the amish run scores of puppy mills and thousands of dogs live their whole life in wire cages in squalid conditions, have metal pipe shoved down their throats to break the vocal cords so they cant bark, never get any vet care, etc.
