all 3 would be good. west chester is a more compact, little more of a city feel. downingtown is an older community a little more quiet and closer to work. Exton is more spread out more up to date, a lot more shopping available. Their all good spots.

Thank you so much William Shivers for taking the time in replying. I guess my best bet would be West Chester then for renting a place. My family and I will be new in the country, we will be selling here in Canada and renting there til we build up some credit. Any good places you know to rent? Would be looking for 3 bedrooms. Thanks again

problem with renting in west chester is that it's a college town. your better off checking in the east or west goshen area surrounding west chester or out in exton. I work as a realtor so not to sure of the best rentals but i would take a look online philly.com is a good place to start. I also do a little looking around for some decent complexes in the area. Maybe rainrock will see this posting and have some suggestions.

As William said there are alot of apartment complexes/townhouses along route 3 heading into West Chester( East Goshen and West Goshen) Google those 2 areas + West Chester for apartments/ homes for rent, and that should help you out.

Its going to be a big change for you. The Coatesville,Downingtown,Exton,West Chester area is going to be very countryesque, slower if you are coming from Vancouver.

Its a nice area but at a fairly slow pace compared to Vancouver. Great schools, no crime to speak of, great quality of living. As the Philly metro continues to migrate north + west these towns are the next frontier heading west, lots of BMW's,Mercedes,Lexuses etc. in all those 3 areas.

Oh thank you, thank you, thank you. I will definetly look into those links you sent me. Great schools in definetly a plus I have 2 children ages 9 and 3. Any idea how expensive pre-schools are there, here there rediculoulsy over priced. I have to work in the evening while my hubby works during the day otherwise my salary would be basically paying for my sons pre-school.
Well thank you both again for taking the time to reply. Have a great day
