Best outdoorsy, cool town in SW Pennsylvania
This is probably a tall order, but finding the perfect place to live always is, isn't it? What do I seek? Small town in SW PA, close to parks, trails, good places to run and bike; town should contain some character and culture, at least one good restaurant/bar (preferably with good beer ). And being no more than 1 hour from an airport is preferable. Ligonier, although a bit limited, is what I've come up with thus far. Appreciate any suggestions!

Thanks ki0eh. I grew up going down to Morgantown back in the 70's and early 80's and remember mostly a stereotypical version of the area, but perhaps it's changed quite a bit.

Homer City, PA also fits a lot of your criteria, it has the Hoodlebug Trail going through town, which is a bike/running trail.

Thanks Pinetar! Didn't think there was any "town" to speak of near Ohiopyle, but it is pretty around there. I'll check out Homer City.

I do know beer lovers in Indiana, can't imagine it's too close to an airport.
How about Johnstown? It's close to the John Murtha Airport.
Confluence is like Ohiopyle with a bit more of a town to it. But further from an airport. If Ligonier is too small Confluence will be too.
There's some nice stuff around Slippery Rock including Welcome to North Country Brewing! - not as big as Ligonier, but probably easier to get to the real airport.
