Anyone able to give me an idea of the REAL commute time from Center City to Conshohoken? Considering taking a job out there and wondering what to expect. Map Quest says 20 minutes, but I know that's not accurate. Should I expect, on average, to double that time? triple it?

Also, what are the best times to hit 76 to avoid peak congestion?

Thanks!!

That ride is awful. Take the train and you're in the city in about 20 minutes. Couldn't be more convenient.

8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Unless there's an accident, or a sporting event, then all bets are off.

Seriously? At rush hour, it can take 45 minutes to an hour, stop-and-go the whole way. One broken down car can screw up the Schuykill for hours. An alternate route is Ridge Pike/Henry Avenue/Kelly Drive, but you have to stop at every light along the way because the traffic lights are not synchronized or coordinated in any way.

The train is a good suggestion. It's fast, comfortable and convenient, and there are express trains in and out during rush hour. I'm a big fan of the Schuykill Flyer!
