Default Working in Horsham

Hi everyone,

It is very likely that I will be relocating my family from Houston to the Philadelphia area. Specifically, I will be working in Horsham.

I am looking for a community that has excellent schools, (this is my top priority) close to great grocery stores that offer specialty foods for food allergies (whole foods etc..), has a lot of school age kids, young families, plenty of activities for kids (swimming, dance, theater classes, gymnastics, sports etc.), parks, decent suburb type restaurants, and a 20 minute commute to work. Housing price range from $400-$500 K.

I have been searching the web and found a few areas. Can someone please provide me with some insight to the surrounding area? If you know of any other great areas, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Yardley, Newtown, Chalfont, Warrington & Horsham.

Hi,

I currently live in Doylestown which you did not mention on your list of possible locations. We moved here from Great Britain 5 years ago so I know what it is like to be a newcomer! We fell in love with Doylestown as it is quite a charming town with some excellent restaurants, good schools and the local YMCA is fantastic. You would definitely get a nice property for the price range in a good area. FYI I am a Realtor. Good luck,

One answer to this is Wegmans. A big new store located about 3 or 4 miles north of Horsham, Warrington I think is the actual address. Nearest Whole Foods is Jenkintown. A new one is scheduled to open in Plymouth Meeting in the next future, but it may be the same distance as Jenkintown form Horsham. Might want to check on Trader Joes, ... I think a TJ's in Jenkintown is also the closest in that area, also.

I can't comment on the schools and kids stuff there. There is no shortage of suburban big-box restaurants in the Horsham area.
