Default house in summit hill vs. prefab in quakertown?

these seem to be my options, the houses in summit hill are quite inexpensive, but quakertown is closer to everything but is more expensive. another place I've heard of being inexpensive is north of pottstown. any imput?

I used to work in Coaldale, right ouside of Summit Hill. The homes are inexpensive, but that's because they're mostly older homes, some not in the greatest of shape, and they're piled on top of each other.

Maybe it's just me, but I could never live with my neighbors house 2 feet from mine, which is what you often get in these older boroughs.

Other than that, I can't say much more for the area. It's ok, I guess.

Likewise, I can't provide much insight on Quakertown, other than to give you my opinion of what I would likely choose, but that seems to be about al you're asking. I'd probably look into something with a little more space, even 1/2 acre with a modular would give ya a little more elbow room than Summit Hill.

Again, just my opinion. YMMV.

Bravosix, thanx I'm inclined to agree with you, but most realtors are against prefab homes they say they are a bad investment, but if I own the land shouldnt that be good enough?

Pre-fab as in modular?

Today's modulars are not the same as a few years ago. I've seen some amazing homes that were built exceptionally strong that were modulars.

I'd suspect that any realtor who tells you it's a bad investment has ulterior motives....such as wanting to sell you a pre-existing home.

Default modular homes

I build dozens a mod cut: link removed, advertising not allowed and if you have not visited one on site or being built at the factory then please do not give negative (facts) based on what you may have heard or think. Realtors have trouble with trailers since financing is difficult. Not modulars. They are just as good as a site built since they are built the same way. You can cut a framed home down the middle and support it enough for travel - I doubt it would hold up on the road but now it is a modular. Same lumber, same components - just built off site in sizes to travel.
