Default State College

Hi. My famly is considering a move to SC and my daughter and I will probably be working retail at both the management and clerical level. What kind of money would we be able to make there? Are there enough full-time retail jobs? Do they cater to the student population for employment? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!

Its not a huge area in terms of retail. The mall is kind of a joke...Downtown has some cute retail shops but mostly Penn State related items. (a couple boutiques as well) Money wise...I used to work there about 10 years ago in a customer service position and I was making about $12 an hour...Wasn't bad as I was young and had no bills but not great.
I would see what you can find on campus in an admin position.
good luck

Thank you for the info. I have worked customer service ( still do actually) and If I could make the money you described, I would have no worries. Do you know anything about Fredericksburg Ct? They are a condo development in Park Forest in the Woodycrest section. They are a little cheaper than others in the area and I was wondering why. Thanks again for any help you can give!

Within the last ten years some big box retail has moved in on the west side of town (mostly in a triangle in Patton Twp between North Atherton St/Business 322 west and I-99/US 220-322).
