Alright now that thats is out of the way, anyone know what the area around Spring Mills PA is like?

Were a nice gay couple with a baby and are scared to death but my dream job wants to interview me there....

Ive lived in Ft Laud so Im not used to conservative, we're living in charlotte so we have had a little taste of it.

Spring Mills is in the Penns Valley area east of State College. Transplants I know there seem to be more numerous and better welcomed than in small town PA generally. Spring Mills and nearby Centre Hall and Millheim will have some rentals, all are pretty quiet. Here's a spot that seems emblematic of the local vibe: Elk Creek Cafe + Aleworks - Home I understand Penns Valley schools are fine but State College Area SD will rank higher numerically and will be much larger. Gay or not, living in small town Pennsylvania will be putting yourselves in a fishbowl, like small town life anywhere. Many folks in the Penns Valley area commute into State College so you're bucking what traffic there is if you'd prefer to live closer into State College, to live in larger more anonymous surroundings. SCASD will also be more expensive; noisy if you're within walking distance to campus, but not otherwise.
