Camp Hill is sort of a nice quaint town with tree-lined streets. Most people are nice friendly middle-class people. Camp Hill has a reputation for its snooty people, but there are just as many sections of Camp Hill with people living below the poverty line. Cumberland County is mostly rural farmland, as is most of York County just to the south. Camp hill happens to be in the eastern part of the county with easy access to shopping and places of employment, including just across the river in Harrisburg. As far as things to do, not a whole lot of excitement: plenty of hiking in the area if you are into that. I recommend the books "Great Hikes in Eastern Pennsylvania" and "Great Hikes in Central Pennsylvania." Give more specifics about what you're looking for and I'll address those.

As the other poster said, Camp Hill is a nice borough. Be aware that there are areas not in the borough that carry a Camp Hill address such as Hampden, Lower Allen and East Pennsboro townships. These areas are generally nice as well.

Speaking of the borough, it's probably the largest area of "old money" in the immediate Harrisburg metro, so it has that reputation for being snobby, whether it deserves it or not.

As for things to do in Camp Hill, that depends on what you are into. Camp Hill has several nice parks nearby as well as the West Shore Country Club for golf and social activities. It's also very close to City Island which has minor league baseball and soccer as well as a nice walking path, kiddie train, horse carriage rides, mini-golf and other activities. It's also convenient to the Capital City Mall for shopping. Market street in the borough has a nice strip of restaurants and shops as well.
