Default Ryan and/or Gemcraft homes

My husband and I are looking into purchasing a ryan or gemcraft home in the Harrisburg area. Does anyone have any experience with either of them? Thanks in advance

be careful with gemcraft...they have a real ability to drag things out when correcting problem issues that they caused through poor followup during construction... while homes tend to be solid structurally, their finish work is well below par.

I worked for a contractor that installed Ryan Homes.

The problem with most manufactured homes is that the process of building the modular home is so rushed that when mistakes are made at the factory, it sometimes takes months or years to get them all straightened out.

The factory builds it just good enough to get it on the truck and then the truck hauls it 60 miles a hour down the road. If you could imagine a stick built house sitting on it's foundation with a 60 mph wind blowing against it for a couple of hours or a day or two, you could understand that it is not good.

As you drive down the road, the siding and the shingles are blowing off the house and the carpenters job is to put it together, patch everything that fell off and make it look like a real house when it is done.

RT 422 Home Sales sold some nice modular homes.

I would be very careful to make sure that you pay the extra money for the good kitchen and bathroom cabinets or else you will end up with nothing more than a over glorified trailer.
