Just curious - what brings you to Renovo?
Like any rural area, family ties rule. Treat them nice, and I'm sure they will return the favor.

If you're there during October 9-11, catch the annual fall flaming foliage fest.

My experience with Renovo is that it has a very small community that is paranoid about its police and local elected officials. It's like Lord of the Flies, even if the children are actually much older. A local meeting about a zoning request could become the biggest controversy of the season, and it's all you'll hear about. Very weird.

Generally, the length of municipal council/board meetings is inversely proportional to the size of the community.

I just moved up here. Moved in with the boyfriend from Bellefonte. I've only been staying here a few days now. He has warned me of a few things, including the drugs, and how rough the bars are. Other than that, I pretty much stick to the mountains, woods and the small little neighborhood around us. I have noticed though, that people will wave to him, or to me if I'm driving the truck, but if I'm driving my '06 Suzuki Reno around, I get gnarly looks. Not sure exactly why, whether it's because a suzuki reno isn't exactly the "normal" car for Renovo, or what... Anyways, if you're an outdoors person, it's a great place, if not, then it doesn't seem like there's anything up here. I'm a little excited about the festival though. Good luck moving in!!!

First off yes drugs are a problem here. However, nobody pushes it and if you say no, they dont bother you. As with any town there are favorite families or the power families if you will...this town is no different. I have been coming here for years and last year moved here. My daughters love it here. Nobody bothers me. I love the people. Everyone is laid back. I moved from a bigger city so what most people here find catastrophic I look at and laugh. I can say I have NO regrets moving here. And yes if you are in the area this coming weekend, be sure to check out Flaming Foliage!
