my home town, and i can tell you, lots of snow. winters have been mild last decade or so, but, still, lots of snow. it is not so much the amount of snow though up in this area, but, just how long winter is. erie gets far more snow of course, by lake, but, this whole area gets lots of it, and, the winters are interminable. cutting up the logs, getting ready for another one !

One of "these" is called a snow blower. If you don't like to occupy your time with a blower and have money, you can definitely find people willing to shovel your driveways by hand or small car plow easily.

Funny Indian said that the last decade has been mild.

My MIL lives in Bradford. She owns ice cleats for her boots and honest to goodness showshoes!

Last winter, she was snowed in for a week. If that's mild, now you have an idea of just how bad it can get in Bradford.

Did you know Bradford is often the coldest place in the Northeast and sometimes the coldest place in the continental United States?

That low temperature is actually taken at the Bradford Regional Airport, which is closer to Smethport than Bradford, but it's not much different.

Be aware that the job situation in that area is poor, although there has been a little uptick with natural gas drilling in the last year or so.

Yes, Bradford gets snow! I loved it. It's really beautiful in the winter. There was one point in winter, 2004 when 24 inches had accumulated because it just wouldn't melt. Compared to Buffalo and Erie, that's not a whole lot though.

The main problem with Bradford is the economy and stupid government. When my family left in 2006 we didn't even look back.

I highly doubt your last paragraph is true.

If you mean his last "sentence", believe it. I have seen it referred to many times on all of the national news weather segments as the coldest spot in the United States.

Yep. It's mentioned on the local news here in DC/Baltimore.
