Default Altoona.....Need some info!

Hello. I am looking into an LPN school in Altoona and I was wondering if anyone could give me any insight about the town. Is it safe? How are the schools? Is it a good place to raise a family? How is the medical jobs in the area? Any help would be appreciated. I am from NJ originally but living in Florida and I hate it here! I can't go back to NJ, it's too expensive.

One school would be the Greater Altoona Career and Technology center.

I wouldn't personally live in some sections of Altoona but in some sections I would if I had to.
In my opinion I think it would be better to raise kids in towns outside Altoona, which really isn't that bad. If you drive it makes a lot of sense. Towns outside of Altoona generally are safer (not saying altoonas not safe) and have smaller schools. Any questions let me know.

I'd like to hear more about Altoona, too, and the surrounding area as we are planning to move back next summer....................if we can sell the dang Myrtle Beach house, that is.
