The Steel City dethroned last year's No. 1 city, Boston, which dropped to third. Philadelphia came in No. 2.

Phillies drew 3.6 M people(102.2% capacity),Pirates 1.5 M(50% capacity).

Kudos to the Steelers + Punquins for their success but you have to have Philly above Pittsburgh on this list.

I wouldn't have rated Philly #2. I'm glad someone did. They need a break.

i like it, Detroit should be higher though, all the teams there draw really well despite the terrible economy. many of those residents pack the stand for UM & MSU games too ...

good ol' pennsylvania parochialism. If you ask a Philadelphian, they'll say Pittsburgh deserves all the titles they can get, they don't have anything else worthwhile

Pitt has no NBA team and essentially has turned a coveted MLB franchise into a AA team, that cant be the best Sports Town in America. Sorry.

Also The only reason the Punquins are any good is because the franchise goes into decade long funks that helps it continually accumulate #1 picks, otherwise there would be 8,000 fans showing up for NHL games as well.

Steelers have been a rock so kudos there.

The Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs outdraw the Pirates on many nights.
