An interesting way to get a post "about PA" on the board.

Unhappy South Carolina!

I love the show last night when they went to Hershey and they were leaving and she says to him wake up! I always say that to my husband because he works nights and is mellow to begin with so those two mixed together doesnt leave him on his toes a lot!!!!
We moved to South carolina a few years ago and are very disappointed. We live in a suburb of Charleston and, though our home is lovely and it is nice to be so near the ocean, we are relocating back "up north". There are so many social problems here! The schools are impossible, crime is a huge problem (even in this "upscale" area), and no one wants to pay for infrastructure. Every time it rains, the roads, sidewalks and some stores flood in downtown Charleston. Many areas have ditches and no storm drains. The roads are terrible.

The people are clueless. They are satisfied with the way things are and that means nothing will change. They talk about improving the schools but that will not happen because learning and intellectual achievement are not valued here. If you ask half the people if they would rather have their child be the school football star or be accepted at Harvard, the quarterback wins out every time.

Salaries are low, opportunities are few and the whole state needs a wake-up call. Do yourself and your family a favor and don't come south!

I only watched one show. But, the joke in our home is how with all those kids she gets to sleep to 8AM each morning. She said "she doesn't function before that time".........
Everyone laughs at that, because we all have to get up with the little ones and its way, way, before 8AM. So just what do those six little, little ones do, for those 2 or more hours early in the AM? I can't imagine that she is not up and running by 6AM.........
That she gates all of them and heads for the shower is funny also. At that small we had the kids parked right by the shower to keep an eye on them............

I don't watch much TV but recently I saw that show too and wondered about that - my kids would've seriously destroyed something if I slept in and left them to their own devices.

Then I saw the Christmas shopping show and how she talked to her husband made me wince, so I haven't watched since then.

My kids are mostly grown up now but I never had any early risers. All three tended to sleep until 8 until they started pre-school. On one of the first days of pre-school with my oldest we were waiting for the doors of the school to open just before 10:00 am and I said something like, "Boy, it sure is hard to get here so early!" All the women looked at me like I was crazy. I immediately realized that it wasn't that early and now all these strangers realized how loosely our household was run. Oh, well, that was two houses ago...

My oldest was just like that and still is - late to bed and late to rise is his natural thing. I used to follow his lead until *shiver* school starts each year. Their bus comes at 6:49 a.m. so he struggles with that.

But my younger two are naturally little morning people, ugh.

It reminds me of when my daughter was in the hospital. I got the older daughter off to school at 8:10AM........I got to the hospitalized daughter by 8:30AM....The looks I got for coming THAT LATE, were frightening. Every Mom looked at me like the "uncaring mother".......I did hold my head up, because I took care of all my three kids.....and I thought I got there in a timely manner, even if they didn't.
PS I helped with raising twins too!.........it was a big job........different, but wonderful.
