I think raising eight kids is unbelievably stressful. Im sure they wouldnt trade with anyone though. If Kate or Jon gets a bit testy at times, who can blame them? Everyone argues at some point. All I know is that those kids are loved, well taken care of and happy. I hear they mentioned they dont have a college planned for those kids. I hope someone donates them money for that. 8 kids !! how can anyone afford to send 8 kids. Someone help them.

Actually, they have a better chance at getting financial aid then a normal family with kids spaced out. I know a family of quads and all four are going to private colleges and the family is not rich.

Maybe the reason he looks unhappy is because: HE IS!!!!! Who wouldn't be? Living with Kate telling him what to do, how to do it and criticizing him for the way he does it would make anyone unhappy. That woman is most manipulating, controlling person I have seen lately. Notice how she just "mentions" that the camera is lousey, she needs plastic surgery, etc. Sounds like she is asking for more handouts. Those kids are being exploited big-time. If she is so stressed out, maybe she should consider sending all the camera crews home and try living like a "normal" family. But, really, that would cut out all the mega benefits, right? How sad!

It seems like a lot of your are forgetting that reality TV does not equal reality. These shows are heavily edited to make them more interesting; the cameras are also not always at the house. They seem to do most of their filming focusing on certain "events."
Yes, Jon and Kate do snap at each other sometimes. Every couple has disputes and when there is that amount of stress it's going to be hard to keep your cool 100% of the time (and of course personality has something to do with it.) But, you have to remember that for every 1 spat you see on TV, there were probably 25 positive interaction that weren't as "interesting" and therefore ended up on the cutting room floor. Kate's melt-downs just equal "good TV!" Same thing with the kids' behavior. Children are going to misbehave. There is NO parent out there whose kids behave perfectly 100% of the time, not at any age, let alone toddlers! I think the Gosselin babes are pretty darned disciplined, but when those cameras catch some shenanigans, its going to make it on the show.
It saddens me to see how judgmental some people can be. However, I'm guessing Jon & Kate thought long and hard about doing the show and what the repercussions would be, and they obviously came to peace with the fact that they would be judged. They're making their life WORK and my hat goes off to them.
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned on this thread yet, but for anyone interested, Jon is originally from Wyomissing (outside of Reading)--I live about 1/2 from here. I believe they either live or lived in Middletown (closer to Harrisburg). I'm not sure whether that was their old house or new, and I could also be wrong entirely. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Dont know if anyone posted this already. But they were orignally living in Wyomissing, Pa. Around the Cleveland Avenue area. The two oldest were friends with my niece, not sure where they moved to, has to still be close because when they went to Florida, John said he was going to Reading to pick up a UHaul trailer.
Me and my girlfriend watch it all the time, definately makes a single couple want to hold off on having kids, lol.

I'm wondering if they are doing product placement. This week we saw the camera focus on the bottle of Juicy Juice for what seemed like 10 seconds, and then one of the girls actually pointed to the label! We also spent most of one show in a furniture store with many comments from Kate about the friendly, helpful staff and the sturdy, well made furniture--only at the end to get a long look at the IKEA store sign.

I came on here to see if the Juicy Juice plug was going to be brought up. That was so intentional. They did two long spots on it and then yes, the one child mentioned it. That part made me mad. Sure they will get perks, I am sure that is partly why they did the show. But, to focus in on Juicy Juice so much was obvious and annoying.
Also, do the children ever drink milk or water?

I totally agree. Kate belittles Jon terribly, she is a drama queen, and is trying to look good for a show. I don't watch anymore, and if things annoy her the way acts, I can't imagine letting a tv audience see me behaving like that, not even for the money they must get.

I have watched other shows with parents of multiples and there is no belittleing going on, I would not have cameras in my home as much as they do, even shows on the two older girls, playing for the camera, oh well, I guess money will do it.
