Default Help! Just Got a job in York, PA.

I just recieved a job offer in York PA. I am in my 20's and am looking to live somewhere with alittle bit of a social atmosphere. I am from Detroitand everything seems so fast paced there and it is really slow in york So my question what ares to check out? I have been looking in Harrisburg, and Cockeysville Maryland. Id like to live in a apartment that id walking distance to entertainment, bars and resturants. Any suggestions would be great...BG

Harrisburg would be good. Lancaster is bigger than York & beautiful but might be quiet. The city of Lancaster has an Amish heritage. Gettysburg is a small college town by the battlefield. Harrisburg would probablly have more to do for the mid 20 yr old. Cockeysville Maryland is a larger area worth exploring.

York is fairly quiet compared to Harrisburg. How far do you want to drive?
Gettysburg is very quiet, rural and caters to tourist trade 9 mos of the year.
Lancaster city has a bit of crime altho the surrounding country is pretty farmland. Welcome to PA!

you could live in the middle, like new cumberland or fairview twp in york. it would be about halfway to both places. york has a few bars and restaurants, but not really that much to offer. harrisburg has a little bit more, museums, state capitol, bars, restaurants, boring historical stuff. farm show, carlisle car shows, stuff liek they, all the major services and hospitals are in harrisburg area. plenty of employments and places to stay. you would like to stay as close to i-83 as possible it sounds like. they have lots of rutters and turkey hills in the area, id shop at the turkey hills too, they're friendlier.
