Default Colo to Beaver Falls?

I am seeking info on Beaver Falls, north of Pittsburgh. I have lived in Colorado for the past 26 years. I am originally from the North of England, and desire to live and see other parts of this country. I buy houses and rent them out to tenants. I have seen Colorado grow over my time here. Summers are a mix of wildfires and tourists. Winters bring an avalanche of snow and skiers. It's always sunny. I cherish my return trips home and the rain and the cooler summer weather. Time to re-locate where I have access to a city and camping.

There is the town of beaver Falls, and then there is the surrounding area with a Beaver Falls address. Pitt Nurse grew up there. She will be your best bet on the area. The surrounding area isn't bad. Chippewa, and West Mayfield. The town itself is a pit.

I saw this at lunch and have put some thought into how to answer.

First, I would strongly suggest you read all the statistics on Beaver Falls that you can find on city-data and anywhere else. According to CD, there are aobut 500 unoccupied houses in the city, out of a total of about 4400 houses, in other words, about one in every nine houses is unoccupied. The last single family house in the city was built in 1997, ten years ago. This is not an up and coming city. We were there last fall, and while the countryside was beautiful at that time and we hiked in Brady's Run Park, the city looked more dilapidated than ever. The library was in such bad shape, Andrew Carnegie would roll over in his grave if he saw it!

The main suburbs, Patterson Hts, Patterson Twp, Chippewa Twp, West Mayfield, Big Beaver, and White Twp do not seem to be quite so distressed. Of the burbs, my fave is Patterson Hts where I grew up, but it is small. Patterson Twp is bigger and similar. Ditto White Twp. West Mayfield is small and not my favorite place. Big Beaver is more rural. Chippewa Twp is somewhere in between rural and urban, probably the most "suburban" of the surrounding areas. If you are interested in the north Pittsburgh area, I recommend somewhere else. I haven't lived there for a long time, don't know what are the "up and coming" areas right now. I have lived the past 27 yrs in Colorado myself.
