We have been here for three years (on the weekends). We are from NY and love it here. I wish we could live here all week instead of only for two days a week. Lititz is a wonderful place. I am amazed reading some of the other postings here. My neighbors are fantastic, everyone has been fantastic. I couldn't recommend a better place to move to.

With all due respect, living here on weekends practically puts you in the tourist catagory. You're not here everyday experiencing people ignoring you when you say hello to them when they walk past you or making you feel like you're beneath them when you attempt to participate in community or church events. My family and I have offered our services to this town and our parish in many different ways and have been given the cold shoulder time after time.

Well, we're nice people to hang around with. So if you would like people who are friendly and won't ignore you or judge you, send me a PM.

Being a 3+ generation of a Lititz family, and just now finding this site I feel the need to interject in an obviously aged conversation (sorry for the delayed comments). First, I find it interesting that the gentleman who seems most critical of Lititz calls himself "Lititzman 2003". Odd that you would identify yourself with that which you seem to be so adverse to. Second, I have had many a discussion with 'old-time' Lititzites, as well as newcomers, and most have agreed that it is actually the 'transplants' that are the cold, unfriendly lot. Those of us who have grown up in this town take pride in it, and are pleased that others have come to appreciate everything it has grown to be. We welcome the influx that has turned our town into a hot-spot in Lancaster County. Yes, we occasionally complain about the heavy traffic, but deep inside, we are grateful that we live in such a productive, supportive, history-filled community where neighbor supports neighbor (business and otherwise).

well now that it is 2012 are things any better in Lititz? We were looking at moving there but for our kids sake I am not so sure now. I do believe that your home is what you make it. "Grow where your planted" but I also dont love communities that don't let in outsiders. We outsiders keep life fun and interesting. We still might consider Lititz. We will definitely have to check it out first as we would be moving from the West.

I was begining to worry that my Wilbur Buds might be laced with cocaine. I guess I'll stay here on the Mexican Border where it's safe.

No, still a tough place to live.

Lititzproud, you're missing a point that I've tried to emphasize: you're a native and I'm an outsider. That's the problem. You've family is already established and accepted. For those who move here from outside the county it's a struggle to find friends. Oh, I created that name shortly after we moved here, not knowing what was ahead of me.

If you want a whole bunch of crazy, move to Lititz!

Most are narrow-minded, ignorant racists. These people (during my commute to work) will daily brake in front of my car WITH THEIR CHILDREN IN THE CAR!!! What kind of animal does that!?! Also, what does it mean in KLAN language when someone turns on their high beams or brights on their car?

The young people are like 'Children of the Corn' ... animals.

Lancaster is closer to normal. The young people, as a whole, are mannerly and courteous and I haven't experienced racism there. The middle-aged and older are also kind and courteous in Lancaster.
