Default Forest Fires
It seems like every time you turn on the news, you hear of yet another forest fire in another part of the country. What is the track record of such events in NEPA? Here's what I hope doesn't sound like a crazy question....does homeowners insurance cover damage from forest fires? I would assume so, but maybe it's treated like flood insurance (as a separate policy). Where I live on Long Island, forest fires are definitely not an issue so I have no experience with this. Thanks for any/all info.

I've been here for about 8 years and haven't heard of any forest fires in the Poconos. Trees have fallen on my home and others do to the wind. And homes around here get flooded in some areas. But no forest fires. Hmmmm

Thanks MollyMe. The reason I ask is that our precious one acre is wooded and backs up to State Forest. I'd hate to think it could go up in smoke?!?!
