Default Towns between Franklin and Pittsburgh

Where is a good place to live between Franklin and Pittsburgh? Franklin is too rural for my fiance and I but I'll be working there. I want to be closer to the city but don't want to commute over a hour to work everyday. Any advice? And if anyone has some info about good places to see live music (sxe, punk, hardcore, emo, etc.) and vegetarian friendly places to eat/shop.
