My husband was offered a job in Shoemakersville, PA. We are looking for a family friendly town with good schools in-between Philly and Shoemakersville. I'm not much of a country girl and like having easy access to stores and cultural activities in a suburban setting. Thanks!

Come on down to Phoenixville. We're definitely closer to Philly than Showmakersville but still somewhat in-between. The town is great here (visit on the first Friday of any month if you really want to be impressed, the whole town comes out). There are great local restaurants and stores in town, and if you need to hit up big chain stores Oaks and King of Prussia are 10 minutes away.

Wyomissing if you can afford it but there are plenty of places nearby that are nice and friendly and still very close to major shopping areas. From country to suburbs, new developments to older established suburbs, rowhomes to mansions.
