Are there any good areas to look for shells in the Destin, FWB, Pensacola area?

The Panhandle beaches are not shelling beaches. The sand is 100% quartz. That being said, you need to find a beach that has been recently renourished as the pumping of sand from offshore brings in shells. Pensacola Beach was renourished a few years ago and there are still shells to be found, although not as many as when they first started pumping the sand. I think there has been recent beach renourishment in the Destin area as well.

Any area that has a beach would be a better place to find shells than an area that does not have a beach.

The area has never been great for shelling because of near shore sandbars breaking up shells. Some people say they do have good luck shelling by taking the ferry to Shell Island from St. Andrews SP in Panama City Beach.
