A friend of mine works in Mobile and lives in a small town north of Pensacola. I love that area of FL. It's quite charming and the beaches are beautiful.

Still get the cool winters
Northwest Florida still gets down to the 40's and 30's at night but it is nice because it is in the 50's and 60's during the day in the winter time.

The areas that took the hit are Pensacola Beach and Navarre Beach. Gulf Breeze had damaged in the residential areas that are in low areas and flooding was the bigger problem. I live in Navarre and we did not have any damage. Lots of older/nice homes in Gulf Breeze, the area is in a bit higher social economic level. You can use the comparison of Fort Walton Beach and Destin. Both areas are in the sound and are tourist sites. Hope this helps.

Housing prices in Mobile will be less, as will property taxes. However, sales tax in Mobile is outrageous and the traffic sucks (my mom lives there). If you live on the FL side and you (not hubby) work in FL, you might be able to save some $$ on taxes. If you both live in AL and one of you works in FL, your FL wages may be taxable in AL.

I would like to know the weather there in the winter months. I love warm weather and live in Indiana now and wanting to move to Florida. Have job opportunities in Pensacola as well as Port Charlotte and Fort Myers. I know it's warm all year long down South but would like to know how cold it gets in Pensacola/Destin area?

Winter in the Panhandle is up and down. When a cold front blows through, it can get below freezing at night and then it starts warming up again. You can literally be in a winter coat one day and short sleeves a day or two later. It all depends on the cold fronts. I have even seen it snow, twice in 30 or so years.
